Employee Spotlight: Derrick Peoples

Derrick Peoples is a Field Supervisor for the Atlanta area tech team at Coolray. Born in Alabama but raised in Mississippi, Derrick’s loyalty and love for Coolray doesn’t go unnoticed in the stellar work he does for all of our customers. His skill, hard-work, passion, and love for helping others always make every interaction with him a positive one. Learn more about Derrick and his work with Coolray below.

How long have you worked with Coolray?:

I’ve worked at Coolray for a total of 14 years. My anniversary date is April 13th, 2009!

What do you love most about working at Coolray?:

I love the opportunity for advancement along with working with the great people that I have known for so many years. Our teamwork always impresses me, and so does the customer base that we have. It’s been a joy having a hand in growing this company over the years from a few thousand customers to now over 30+ thousand.

What’s the most rewarding part about your job?:

This has to be training up and coming technicians. I love giving them the knowledge and skills to grow, prosper, and feel confident in their career of choice.

Do you have any specific customer experiences that have stuck with you?:

For me, it’s the decision to get into this industry in the first place. Because of that, every day I make a difference in someone’s life, their comfort, and their safety. As well, I love working with the Neighbor in Need program. I’ve been doing it for as long as I’ve been with Coolray!

What are your hobbies outside of work?:

Outside of work, I love singing with the choir, fishing, and spending time with my beautiful family. My wife and I have been married for 30 years as of this past February, and together we have three sons and two grandchildren.
